PreK-12 ELAR Coordinator

Welcome to Lamesa ISD.  We are so excited you have chosen to be a part of this amazing community and school district.
I will be serving as the district's PreK-12 ELAR Curriculum Coordinator for the 2017-2018 school year as I joined the Lamesa ISD family in January of 2017.  This is my 24th year in education, 17 of those years spent at Lubbock ISD and 6 years at Lubbock-Cooper ISD.  I have been a classroom teacher and an instructional coach and look forward to serving Lamesa ISD as a curriculum coordinator.
My husband Tim and I have three children and four grandchildren that we love to spoil rotten.  I enjoy spending time at the lake with my family and watching anything Texas Tech does!!
I look forward to the opportunity of leading the literacy initiative at Lamesa ISD.  Please let me know how I can be of service to you.

Vocabulary Builder

This UN World Food Program site offers a great vocabulary-building trivia game for students at any level. Every time a question is answered correctly, FreeRice donates ten grains of rice to hungry people.

Storyline Online

Developed by The Screen Actors Guild Foundation, Storyline Online features accomplished actors and actresses reading some of their favorite children’s books. Each story comes with a free Activity Guide and can be viewed on YouTube or SchoolTube. Rainbow Fish, Wilfrid Gordon Macdonald Partridge, and To Be a Drum are just a few of the books available.

Children can listen to short stories read aloud to them as they follow along with the highlighted text. ABCya! has a variety of educational games in addition to the featured stories. Free resources and materials are available for grades K through 5.
