LISD System

The Lamesa Independent School District consists of two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Each employee of the Lamesa school system is a member of a team of administrators, teachers, and support staff dedicated to the education of every child in the community.
It is difficult to place a value on something as intangible as a spirit of teamwork, but a teacher in LISD quickly comes to appreciate the value of working with other professionals who share a common goal of educational excellence.
Lamesa is a town of just under 10,000 people located on the South Plains about sixty miles south of Lubbock and fifty-five miles north of Midland. It offers a variety of restaurants with fine quality food for your dining convenience. City parks offer most anything from picnicking and basketball to swimming or tennis.
Our community boasts a quality hospital and several doctors’ offices. The community also has several churches that welcome teachers with open arms.
When considering the place you will teach, we encourage you to consider the community as well. Lamesa offers many advantages of both the friendliness and convenience of a progressive smaller community.

Salary Schedule
Lamesa I.S.D. develops a new salary schedule each year. The district maintains a very competitive salary schedule.
Lamesa I.S.D. also pays a portion of the health insurance premium for the employee (depending on the plan). This is a cost of up to $437 per month for each employee to the district. This benefit adds up to $5,244 to the total salary package.

Lamesa I.S.D. prides itself in having the most current technology available with all campuses networked together through wireless antennas. We have Internet access in all of our classrooms. Several districts in West Texas have patterned their technology programs after ours. We have also had school districts from other states come and visit our district to view our system.
